Jiawei Gu, Cofounder, President and Chief Scientific Officer, Ling Robotics
Jiawei Gu, the cofounder of Ling Robotics, was formerly the principal architect leading the human-computer interaction team at Baidu Research’s Institute of Deep Learning. His experience and interests lie at the intersection between user-centered design and applied research. Currently he is responsible for directing a team to design, prototype, and create novel digital experience, industrial design, and natural user interfaces for intelligent systems including wearable devices, intelligent transportation, home automation, robotics, and the Internet of things. His projects, which use the technologies of artificial intelligence, deep learning, and big data, include BaiduEye, DuBike, DuLight, and FaceYou. Previously he worked in Microsoft Research, mainly focusing on I/O interfaces for next-generation Microsoft products, including Windows Surface, Xbox Kinect, and Windows 10. He has been awarded 22 U.S. invention patents and more than 120 domestic patents.
