Kristian Hammond is a professor of computer science at Northwestern and cofounder of the artificial-intelligence company Narrative Science, where he focuses on advanced natural-language generation (NLG) and the democratization of information. At Northwestern, he is the faculty lead of the University’s CS + X initiative and has been looking at how computational thinking can be used to transform fields such as law, medicine, and education. He believes in making machines smarter with the goal of humanizing computers so as to stop the process of mechanizing people. Kris received his PhD from Yale University.
